Southern California - Rebuilt my fixie...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So after a few months of looking at my poor fixie, all torn apart and sitting in various parts-piles in my garage, it's finally back together (aside of a few minor remaining issues.)
So where are all the cool SoCal fixie rides, hmm?

I wish I was brave enough to flip my hub around and try the fixed thing. Then I could be a real hipster :)

I rode my fixie more when I had a flat commute, but it's been hanging in the garage, as my knees can't take it on the hills.
What gear are you running? Could be tough to have a fixie ride if everyone has a different gear!
Right now it's 42/16. I prefer 44/16, but I've got a "new" set of cranks on it and my 44 tooth Campy chainring doesn't fit, even though they are both supposedly 144bcd. It's just a hair off; I'm thinking of taking a small file to one or t'other, but I also have great reservations about doing that.
The SART is good for fixie rides; when I was riding fixed with a bunch of folk from The Bicycle Lane in Fullerton (before Marty left), we all had different ratios but it worked fine on the SART.
I have one, use it for commuting to school and work, and the occasional booze cruise (aka midnight ridazz). Just never really feel like riding it for long distance.
