Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - What would you do if "The Stand" came true?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I mean, not exactly the Stand with all the Good/Evil stuff, but a plague that you and a small percentage of the Earth's population was immune to? I think I'd go cross country on a bike.
Also, has anyone else ever got sick while reading this book?

I think I'd go steal some Ferraris. Then I'd go liberate the Colt Walker from the Henry Ford Museum that they are allowing to rust in a glass case.

When the power goes off...
When theres no more clean running water...
When there's no one around to do an emergency appendectomy...

If you like the concept, read a much earlier-written book on the same subject titled Earth Abides (http://www.amazon.com/Earth-Abides-George-R-Stewart/dp/0345487133/sr=8-1/qid=1165236434/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-7004894-5960631?ie=UTF8&s=books) by George Stewart:
A disease of unparalleled destructive force has sprung up almost simultaneously in every corner of the globe, all but destroying the human race. One survivor, strangely immune to the effects of the epidemic, ventures forward to experience a world without man. What he ultimately discovers will prove far more astonishing than anything he'd either dreaded or hoped for.
I had some type of flu/respiratory infection when I first read The Stand,
very scary ( imagination is a wonderful thing).
what would I do?
find a confente in my size.

And it was good. Thanks, Bockman. You wouldn't think it was written in the 40's. Cheers.

Great book, one of my faves. I even enjoyed the movie. Stories of this sort have always appealed to me. Omega Man is another that I liked.
As for what I would do...I guess I'd have to do my civic duty, and repopulate the planet. And maybe start my own religion. And collect taxes from the other survivors. You know, the fun stuff...
