Commuting - Hit 1000 mile mark

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Hi everyone,
I bought a bike last November and rode it irregularly until the end of December. From the beginning of this year, I started commuting to work on it, 2-3 days a week. Now I am doing 4 days a week, 12 miles each way. I am also doing all my grocery shopping on my bike now.
After my commute yesterday, my cycle computer showed a total of 1000 miles...I feel great about it. I am even thinking of celebrating tonight! :) Just thought I would share it with you folks..
Cheers,
Raji.

Way to go!
Bake yourself a cake. A big chocolate cake. With lots of frosting. You deserve it!
Here's to the next 1000!

It's always pretty nifty when the odo is about ready to click over the next 1000 miles!! Sometimes you'll be transfixed by the thought of seeing the numbers roll, staring down at your odo, waiting -- waiting!!!! -- for the damned thing to just turn over.
This can actually be quite dangerous.

After a buddy of mine destroyed a frame (and put a sizeable dent in the back of a hatchback), I've been extra cautious about watching my cyclocomputer. (I laughed so hard at him -he was uninjured- that I'll have to eat a LOT of crow if I ever repeat that.
So I always celebrate at the end of the ride rather than during, but turning over 1000 is a big deal.
Doc Oso recommends a pint or six of guinness to celebrate!
