Had some polartec windblock material left, about a 1/2 yard, covered both brakes and shifter, pined them then sewed them up! rain proof, wind proof, left two openings in the back for my hands to fit in,all i wear now is glove liners, thats it! rode in 20deg so far and they are great!:o

Its easy to post a pic---just has to be under 100k in size. Goto manage attachments and you'll see upload file from your computer---browse to your pic and click on upload--it will show as an attachment.
If that doesnt work my email is dnc@insightbb.com. Thanks! :D

TrackSmart

Sounds like just the thing. My gloves didn't help worth a darn today. 20 minutes into my trip home and my fingertips were already numb.

TrackSmart, you get the wind off your hands and its a hole new world out there, its like sticking your hands in a cacoon! it's unreal unless you've tried them..I can't believe it took me this long to figure this out! Not to show you how dumb i am, but ive been riding sence the 50's!

Yeah, that wind is killer. My cycling gloves were fine for the way uphill in the morning - I was like a furnace from the constant climbing. On the way back down, they were wholly inadequate in the icy wind...

So, who's going to post a "How To" using only string and the ratty fleece pull-over that you were going to use for car rags anyway?

Hezz

Some old polar fleece with a nylon cover for wind resistance would be ideal. I know the Iditabike guys almost all use pogies. I've never had trouble keeping my hands warm and I rarely have to ride in temperatures below 15F. For me it's the feet that are the big problem.
