well, just wanted to share my excitement as i leave tonight for 4 days of mountain biking in Lake Garda Italy --- which is kind of like the Moab of Europe ---- mountain bike and rock climbing mecce -- it is a lake on the south edge of the Alps surrounded by peaks with 2000 meters of vertical (the lake is at 50m and the highest peak 2200m) and the trails climb steeply up on all sides with of course, super-technical trails downhills!!!

here's a photo from my last last trip there last October: (note, i usually wear my helmet, but this was the end of a long climb - note the knee/shin protectors also strapped on my backpack -- plus it makes for a better photo since all my "on-bike" shots are helmeted) we climbed up from the far valley on the left side.

hopefully i'll have a few more good shots to post -- and maybe a video or 2...

Drool, drool...I mean the mountain bike trail view of course. Hopefully, my husband and I can make it to europe some time. We only make it as far west as Colorado.

Oh Yeah!

Try and get to Verona while you're at it... it's just like 20 km, and a BEAUTIFUL town.

Went to Lake Garda myself. Awesome riding!

Have fun!

ok, well i rolled back into Munich last night at 1:30am. it was awesome! a few friends cancelled b/c of potential rain, but the weather was good enough - we had rain on Saturday and otherwise mostly sunny skies.

unfortunately i left the camera in the pack most of the time, but i'll post a photo or 2 tomorrow.

in all we did 4 big tours with 6,000 meters of vertical climbing (19,800 ft) and some wicked-sick steep and rocky downhills. unfortunately we didn't do the really killer single trails near Tremalzo i did last fall b/c my friends weren't up to the challenge - but i go back again in 2 weeks!

oh, on a side note, i met my dream-woman a few weeks ago and naturally she rides and at the last minute she decided to joined us for the trip and is totally fit and adventurous and was right with us for every climb and then every downhill trail too (ok a little walking) and i am hoping with all my heart that she is interested in me, but...

plus, the ice cream, pizza and Italian wine were great too. and we did a 2 rock climbing routes.

and the weather was awesome - and warm! i'm on the left with my shirt off for the 1000 meter+ climb up from the lake (it's further away than it looks)
