I know they will eventually but...

I have a pair of Look PP247 pedals I bought about 2 years ago. On the last 3 or 4 rides I've had a hard time getting the left cleat to click in. Getting out is no problem. I have the tension at the lowest setting. I've cleaned the pedals and sprayed with Schwinn pedal lubricant. Nothing helps. It's not the cleat. I've tried another pair of shoes with new cleats.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Can you completely take them apart and do a rebuild. Sometimes a bit of dirt or gunk can foul the spring mechanism and the only solution is a complete rebuild.

Other than that, I was going to say new cleats, but you've ruled that out!

Yes.

I had some LOOKs for four years and they gave out. I replaced the cleats and went for a ride, only to have the left one just let go of the cleat while I was riding. Pedal flew around into my left heel. This was probably 6 months ago, and I can still feel a little pain in heel when I put my foot on a table or something.

I dunno but it sounds like a cleat problem. Have you checked it for wear or damage at the engagement points?

Thanks for the suggestions.

I didn't want to do a rebuild but I guess that's next.

if you do end up getting new pedals, they are not as expensive as you might think... 247s for $70 at excel... :)
