Hey if anyone has campy components, I have a question. When climbing(standing up), i find that i have to sit back down to shift the rear derraileur(shifting under load). Is this something w/ all campy components and does it break in eventaully so u can shift under load? Thanks

I have not had any problems shifting at anytime.. what campy components do you have.. record.. chorus.. centaur...etc.. also have you checked your chain, maybe it is stretched.. or to long.. does thi shappen when shifting up and down? In what ring up front..

Campy 10-speed takes a bit more time to setup but stays adjusted. Campy is, in fact, suppossed to shift better under load than Shimano. It's one of the reasons some prefer Campy.

It sounds like some kind of misadjustment- take it to a shop or knowledgeable friend.

good luck

How much load are you talking about? Seriously, I don't think I've ever had a problem getting a Campy RD to shift and given that we use Campy stuff on our road tandems they get put under A LOT of heavy loading.

Wish I could offer a suggestion or solution....

B1105, I guess I've just developed a habit of either sitting down or really easing up on the cranks if I have to shift out of the saddle, I don't seem to have a problem when I'm out of the saddle, and ease up just a bit on the load of the cranks, so I can shift..So I'm not sure what to say, but maybe you might want to get in the habit of either sitting and shifting, or easing up on the cranks when you have to shift out of the saddle..

Check the chain wear and adjust derailleurs.

i'm with everyone else, mine shifts so much better than any shimano under stress. Sounds like a derailleur adjustment to me....

I ride with a long-cage RD and it 'bangs' when I shift from one of the larger cogs to the next when standing because of all the chain it has to take up. But it never fails to shift well. So I have to agree with all the above. Something is out of adjustment. MY LBS just finished adjusting my bike and said that they really don't expect to see it back again for another 4-5000 miles. All normal adjustments can easily be taken care of by the barrell nuts.

I have not had that problem. I'd suggest finding a knowwledgeable mechanic
