Foo - Frustration And Anger!!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

How do you let it out?
I have to workout or ride hard until my asthma kicks in. Then I collapse like a bowl of jello. Wheezing. In a corner. Wishing I was dead.
Then I feel better. :)

So frustrated, you posted the thread twice...
CNS depressants usually do the trick.
Scream at the top of my lungs!!!! I'm joking. I workout or ride, or cook, clean, something that I really enjoy doing. Something to get my mind to relax.
I also take pilates and this is amazing way to release stress and it won't make your asthma kick in! :)
Siu, really is everything okay, your avatar is little sad too??
Going for a bike ride and just enjoying being out in the woods alone usually helps. But when it's not riding season...hmmmm, punching the walls lets out some anger. I should do some martial arts so I can release my wall-punching frustration in a more constructive manner.

Working out or riding helps me too. Tremendously. A good hard cry seems to do the job as well. :)

Usually yell or break something.
Depending on how mad I am I go out in the bush and beat up some tree's with this:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v419/wethepeople101/other%20stuff/sword3.jpg
I just keep it inside, and deal with it until it goes away. For me, I don't feel like anyone can help me with my inner struggles so I don't bother telling them.

Do you throw darts at it, or just shoot the crap out of it with assult rifles?
Not the Dick Cheney one I hope. It will shoot back then have its friends arrange a cover up "hunting accident" story:D
I play with my 6 year old daughter... Sometimes I pray... God helps me a lot. :)

I've got a vintage taverner exactly like the one on Cheers. (Not that I watch that show.) No chance in hell I'm shooting bullets at it. As for assault rifles, I don't own one.

I put on my girlie side and talk about it, sometimes I cry, sometimes I pray and then most of the time I pick up my guitar or mandolin and just play something in the same mood I'm in.

I ride my bike, go for a jog or play Mechwarrior on the PC where I can blow stuff up and shoot stuff until I'm satisfied. I like to talk things out with someone if I'm upset with them, but I like to wait a bit until I'm calm. Nothing gets settled when people yell at each other.

ohh Im not good at that, I usually tell someone off, sounds funny now, but it isnt...
I just tell someone off, usually someone close to me.
I really have to improve on this:lol:
some of my best runs were when I was angry, I try and have someone made me mad before I race:)

I rant.
No holds barred, let it all go kind of ranting. I basically let out every thought I have had about the situation since it started.
One example from yesterday.....we had to find a cable. this cable has no company PN, and they were looking fo rit with a different PN than was on the part. Oh, and the description blows dead bears..."console interface cables scsi/ide serial jumper cable".....WTF is this s**t....did they buy this d**n thing off ebay? "OMFG CAR!!!! FORD TOYOTA MITSUBISHI PORSCHE LEXUS VAUXHAUL". Really, who the hell comes up with this...is there some guy who hates the world sitting around trying to find ways to annoy as many people as possible.....oh wait....I'm in the meeting with him...
Usually letting it go like that is enough to get me to think rationally about it the next morning.

Yeah, write an angry letter to the person you're mad at, but whatever you do DON'T send it.

Ive done that, it was an email meant to not be sent, in the end I said screw it and sent it:o
I think writing letter to people whom you are mad at is a good thing. You can either decide to send them or not. Its up to you, but once you get those feelings down on paper I think it helps make you feel better as a whole. :)
I have a few of those letters. I've thought about sending them but nothing will come from them so to me I said what I needed to say and have moved on. :)

I didnt mean an angry letter...that never solves anything. When I get angry or depressed I write in a book I've been keeping since I was 13, now I'm 34 and theres alot of history in there as well as poetry and short stories :)
although writing a letter you do not intend to send may infact let you get your feelings out in the open where you can see them and look at them from a different point of view. You cant change anyone in this world...people are who they are...all you can do is change yourself. Like all pain...this too shall pass. And you will be better and stronger for it. ;)

I deserved it, I guess.

If they were friends worth keeping they would have understood that you were angry ;)

S/he wasn't good enough for you, BDG. Friends always make allowances for each other and they FORGIVE. Good thing you found this out when you did before you invested more time and emotion into the friendship. :)
If you can't get angry with a friend and cuss em out once in awhile, and be friends again 2 seconds later, you ain't friends.

I really don't like the whole letter idea, very passive aggressive. If you have a problem with someone tell them face to face.
Music. Either play it but more likely listen to something really complex, Mingus, Steve Reich, George Crumb, Wagner, System of a Down.... Those tend to be on the top of my need to let steam out list :)
I think the only friend transgression that's almost impossible to overcome is the, "I'm sorry I slept with your gf/wife for the last 8 months behind your back" Doesn't really matter what you do - it's over at that point.
