Hello everyone,

This is my first posting to BikeForums, so I guess I'd better introduce myself.

My wife and I just moved back to Chicago from NY, and I couldn't be happier! I love riding in the city, and Chicago is a great city for it. I'm 32 and I've been riding BMX for about 20 years. Mostly just flatland now (body's not what it used to be) on an aluminum GT Show (flatland specific bike). I've been riding MTB's for 10 years but I came to the realization recently that I didn't really live near mountains, and lugging that thing around was too much work (I've been riding a Specialized P3). So, the P3 is gone as of a couple of weeks ago and I'm looking for a track bike to replace it. Yes, I know, quite a change from a downhill/DS bike to a fixed gear track bike! I'll still have my BMX bikes for bash around fun.

Have a great Easter/Passover everyone. I'm going for a ride before the rain starts.

You need to be getting a hold of Ms Koffee Brown. She's a chicago town gal who seems very nice and into bikin like quaker is into oats.

Welcome Chip.

The city is great and you will have lots of fun along the lake front. It just too crowded sometimes.

Ha Sam! What a coincidence you mention quaker oats. Might I include this recent picture ot the Quaker Oats building fire of '03?

;) I was eating my cornflakes and almost fell over when I was looking out the window to see the flames on the building. I called 911 and settled in for the show....

If I'm like Quaker into oats, then I'm on fire! Welcome to Chicago, Chip!

Feel free to PM with if you need to find some good trails. Avoid the lakefront from the end of April until about the end of September- it's not worth the hassle, and it's too dangerous with all the foot traffic. I can recommend some much better (and funner) alternatives.
