Hi. I'm new to the forum and thought I'd introduce myself. I started riding when I was 16, and rode John O'Groats to Land's End as my first tour. Since then, I've ridden over the Pyrenees from Bordeaux to Barcelona, done Twatt to Land's End (kind of like John O'Groats to Land's End, but starting at an amusing village in the Orkney Islands). I've also toured Utah, Arizona and Colorado, ridden US Coast to Coast (Everett, WA to Gloucester, MA) and over the Himalayas (Lhasa to Kathmandu, via Everest Base Camp).

I'm currently having some fun with a shaft drive bike I've bought for the daily commute (several reasons: you can't have too many bikes, US dollars are on sale (buy one get one free), and I prefer riding my bikes to cleaning them).

Take it easy everyone.

Welcome Soong! Sounds like you've got a lot of good stories to tell. I'm sure the Touring forum would be a great place to share your experiences.

Welcome Soong! That's an impressive riding resume. You and Machka (she who frequents the Long Distance Cycling forum) would likely have a great time comparing your riding experiences. I've no doubt there are quite a few here who'd enjoy immensely any recounting of your experiences that you would care to share.

Take care,

Z

Hello Soong, I am always glad to see new people from the UK. It sounds as if you have done a lot of travelling and enjoying your bikes to boot.

I think you will certainly find a forum or two that you will enjoy in particular.

Welcome to BF!
