Classic & Vintage - Mystery Peugeot Found. Unknown Model. Never seen one designed like this...

Can someone please help me identify this Peugeot? I know it is a Peugeot from the sticker on the headtube. That's about all I know. A quick search online produced zero results. Sheldon Brown didn't even have anything about it. I'd like to figure out what model it is and know if it has good tubing. Seems to be very robust - in very good condition overall with no dents. The bright orange paint is in good shape with just a few nicks. Maybe I can get my crayons or watercolors out and fix that up. I looked for a serial # but didn't see one anywhere. Pedals say "Made in Italy" but they look original. I hope that doesn't detract from it's potential value. Tires look like they are in decent shape - seems like the rubber is a little hard but I think they came that way. Hoping to put some new Continentals on it. Are Orange sidewall tires available in that size? Nice shiny chrome fender over the front wheel. Seat tube and stem are adjustable. I'm guessing French threading throughout. I'm a little worried about the size. Hoping I don't have a problem getting replacement parts... Anyone know a value on this? I hope I didn't pay too much.

Any help would be appreciated. Not sure if I'm going to keep it or flip it. Already Accepting offers...

THAT my friend is a fine Peugeot, model P001TV#03. That model name is only known by a select few, suchs as sales, shipping/receiving deparment, and the fine people whom put them together on the assembly line.

Very interesting design, similar to an "ordinary" from the late 19th century. Don't know if the extra wheel is an aftermarket add-on, or if it came that way originally. You may want to check the brand on the back tires as opposed to the front tire to see if they are the same. What type of braking system does it have - not obvious to me.

The Peugeot tricycles appear in the late 1980s catalogs, but there is no model number or name listed. Some catalogs show three models while others show four. They all had different size front wheels, so I presume they were identified by wheel size (i.e. 12" Peugeot tricycle). This nomenclature is fairly common for children's tricycles. FYI, the red tricycle is the middle size. Wahoonc's blue model was the larger size.

Looks like a track bike to me:

- No brakes
- Short cranks (25 mm ?)
- Hard tires suitable for a track, not roads
- 16 spoke front wheel
- Fixed gear
- Very short wheelbase

You will need to plug the ends of the handlebars before you can race it ... not safe !

It's a fixie! I now understand the fixation (pun intended) with that style bike now. It's from repressed childhood memories of tricycles and Big Wheels®! :D

It would be funny if it weren't for the fact that many local bike shops will act pretty much the same way when someone brings in an old Schwinn Varsity - spew a bucketfull of false information to the owner - not to mention the customary appraisal of the bike at 5X its actual value.

It's a front-wheel fixie with flat proof tires.

No dents, eh? Must be NOS w/ shop wear as these were always bumping into ****. No saddle bag included in the sale? ..I'll be needing to stash my tools, celly, gun to scare off would-be thieves/dirty, rat-loving nogooders and at very least 1 change of big boy pants in case I make doo-doo on accident. Add to that cork tape, toe clips and straps, water bottle cages ..well, I'm just not sure this is the bike for me at this stage in my life ..as it is it seems best suited to around the yard play. Love the TT. Hope it does well for ya.
