I've tried to search and I found that Kool Stop makes the pad inserts for MAFAC. But I need some for Weinmann brakes also. If it just the insert pad... how do I get the old pad out of the metal holder and the new one in? I just can't see that happening... it seems that the metal holders are bent around the pad and that the whole thing needs to be replaced... any help out there?
Thanks!

Unbend the metal holder slightly, change the pad and rebend.Done.It's even easier when the holder is only holding it from three sides. When i was< a kid my LBS sold replacement pads without holder,it was a bit cheaper.

The KoolStop Continentals don't have a metal holder and don't need one; the mounting bolt is molded into the pads.
Here are the KoolStop Continentals on my Weinmanns.

I'm with Stan.
I use the KoolStop Contis on the Exage sidepulls mounted on my Miyata 512. No reason they wouldn't work on Weinmans.
IIWM, I'd use any plain 'ol unthreaded post canti pads on the Mafacs. I built up an old french Ficelle for my daughter and ended up using the pads out of a Shimano GS 200 set I had laying around.

Koolstop doesn't make pads for MAFAC. It's just that the holders for MAFAC and Campy NR are the same width and have the same bevel angle. The pads they make for Campy will work in MAFAC holders, but they're too short.

... but they do make pads for cantilever or RollerCam calipers, which work superbly in Mafac road calipers.

Except that the posts are way too long and the fronts don't have adequate fork clearance.

I have those Continentals on the Dura Ace brakes on my Gitane. I don't care for the look, but they certainly stop well.
