Classic & Vintage - I just managed to talk my LBS into letting me raid the basement + a brooks question

The shop had been around since the 40s, I knew I'd be able to find some goodies... Here's what I got.

Campagnolo Record English Threaded Headset. Original bearings still in a plastic case. Never been installed, super clean! Also a few spare bits for this. Anyone know how to tell if its road or track? is there a difference anyway?

Campagnolo Record Track Hub shell. I have the internals left from one I shattered when I was hit by a car, I will be ressurecting this for sure.
edit: 165 just corrected me. its road.

An ancient Brooks Team Pro. The scuffs are from shopwear, doesnt look like its ever been used. Leather is still in great shape.

You may have noticed the nose is bent.

if i just undo that nut can I just straighten it out? should I bother?

grand total of all this was 100 bucks! I am super excited, I hope to put most of these parts to use.

Thanks! I just realized the front may be mismatched, hollow axel, possibly road? Ill get some locking skewers for it and call it a day though :)

they definitely need a repacking.

I dunno about the brooks, why do you think the bolt has been cranked out if it has never been used? shouldn't it be all the way in? I am no brooks expert so am just as curious as you...

Headset looks like a triomphe to me unless they made nuovo gran sport with just the two falts on the upper cup.

the bolts all the way on there, but the whole nose is shifted a bit to the right. the front metal bit that conects to the rails is off center. I think its just seen a lot of shop abuse.

the headset is a gran sport for the strada
similar in appearance to the NR pista headset except it only has two wrench flats on the adjusting cup
NR & SR strada headsets use 3/16" bearings
the gran sport & pistas use 5/32"

it does look like the saddle is used because someone's tightened the tension bolt a bit
a brooks starts out with the tip of the saddle closer to the rails..
anyway it looks perfectly usable

let me know if you aren't going to use the chain because i very much need one !

That chain alone is worth the $100. PM me for NOS inch pitch track cogs. I've lots of 8's, and some 7's and 9's as well.

Still learning the Gran Sport Variations Victory and Triomphe headsets also only had the two wrench flats but the victory has text on it like a record headset (triomphe might be the same).
