Anyone know of any sports testing facilities in the DC area? i'm a student at GW. Just wondering what my numbers (LT, AT, VO2max) are.

Is Fairfax (Rt 50 just west of Gallows Rd) close enough? Try here: Fitness Concepts (http://www.fitness-concepts.com/voxmax.htm) You bring your own bike and HRM, they set you up on a calibrated trainer. Output is HR vs power, LTR, and VO2 max data. They'll also give you some basic recommendations on training. I'd book soon, as they start getting very busy in mid-late winter as the local teams plan their season training.

I've got to second the vote for Fitness Concepts - Ken Mierke does a top-notch job of testing, and coaches some of the top cyclists and triathletes around.

I belive that Spokes in Alexandria, VA does testing. From what I rememeber, you have to purchase a breathing mask (about $60) and the test itself is about $150. If you go back to retest, you can use the same mask, so it's only 150.

If you can fit it in, take a class or two in sports science at GW.

Over the past two months I got a huge battery of tests done just by being in an excercise physiology class and volunteering.

It is 175$ for the first first test then 150$ after that. HPC coaching works out of spokes. Susan Hefler is the owner. http://www.hpcoaching.com/
