I purchased this Czech Favorit frame on ebay this summer to make a fixie out of but after sandblasting and priming it I think it deserves better. Italian bb english fork threads Nervex lugs, Cinelli fast back seat stay and a bizarre logo/cable hanger googee I have yet to figure out. Seller said he thought it was from the 60's. All the other examples of Favorit bikes I have seen are pretty pedestrian in construction so I'm wondering if anybody here has any carnal knowledge of this baby? Thanks, Steve

Well, Favorit is just the name of that derailler you picture, it tells you nothing about the name of the maker of the frame, which looks like a pretty nice one! ew

The picture that looks like a derailleur is the head tube badge off the head tube. I took a close up of it on the floor for detail, it bolts to the hole in the head tube that you see in the picture of the nervex lugs. It's a Favorit all right.

Correction it's the badge on the head tube. I took a picture of it off but did not post it

Thanks, I've been to that site although I believe Favorit went bankrupt in the early 2000's and their name may be being used still ala Schwinn, motobecane etc. Since I don't speak czech can't decipher what the site says. In bouncing around on the net and following ebay I haven't seen a Favorit that looks remotely as well constructed as this one. I'm wondering if it might have been made for the olympics by someone other than Favorit and branded Favorit?
It looks like a boom era Favorit F1 frame, but typically these were Campagnolo Nuovo Record equipped. The Favorit branded equipment was usually found on lower models, so maybe this is 2nd from the top? The F1 were fairly popular in Canada where they were the least expensive Nuovo Record equipped bicycle.

I that's true it's a fantastic coincidence since I have a Nuovo gruppo I aquired for this bike. Any ideas on paint schemes or decals from that era? Thanks
