I couldn't talk my wife into riding bicycles to the company Christmas party. I was ready to layer up on top of my shirt and tie, but she was in a dress, and said no way. I've talked her into riding to movies, and even riding to church, but I had to give in on this one.

Although, personally I adhere to the philosophy, "Car Free" still eludes us, as a family. But it's fun trying, and I admire all you folks who make this work!

well at least she will ride to the movies and church, thats better than nothing. It is hard in this age to convince someone to completley give up a car. My wife will always drive a car, and I except that, as long as she can live with my bikes.

My girlfriend and I took a cab one new years when we were all dressed up and it was snowing. We bike places in dress up clothes, we bike together in the snow with dress up clothes, we bike after late night partying with champagne and what not. But we haven't put all three together yet. It will be some kind of car free apotheosis when we do it without thinking twice won't it?
