Mountain Biking - a bummer of a day

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So I usually injure myself while riding at least one good time a year. But today it came on foot.
Somehow, I managed to sprain my ankle on a patch of wet grass while walking through it. (Note: there was no alchohol involved)
Sprained so bad that the doctors say it will be at least a week before I should even walk on it.
And I just put my new ss together yesterday.

That sucks. Take good care of that ankle injury. They linger.

At least that gives you plenty of excuse to *get* alcohol involved.
Beer heals all!

Sorry to hear that. I hope you at least got a little ride in on the SS before this happened. Otherwise, the anticipation alone will kill you.

Beer heals all!I agree. Alcohol does thin the blood out thus increases circulation. I say keep yourself drunk for the week and you'll be fully healed

Sucks to hear that. Do what the doctor says though or it won't heal fully and will bug you a lot longer than you want. Heal fast!

seatpost is fine. it's the frame. it's know to cause knee strain.

Something similar happened to me the other week.
Getting out of my truck I slipped on some black ice and dislocated my knee, it's still black and blue. Damn near hit my head on the rocker panel to, not like that would matter though it would probably just go right through because of all the rust :p.
Anyways, hope you get better soon and get back on the bike.

actually I just talked to my doc on your behalf wheelhot. He said It could be one of three things.
First off it could be due to the fact that you had stitches, secondly he said it could be because of the stitches you had, and third and most likely, he said it might hurt because you had stitches.
Hopefully it helps
Sux about your injury, Sheba. Wouldn't it figure the way it happened - - a gnarly get-off at least gives you some bragging rights. Ah well . . . hope it heals up soon.

thanks, I guess its the stitches because now it doesnt feel soo painfull anymore, just now I must adapt to how my Anthem responds, not used to Low Rise handlebar, feel different when cycling up steep uphill. Thanks for asking your doc, really appreciate it and the stitches are off, now waiting my skin to turn back to normal :D Yippie!
