well logically, it can be for one or more of the following reasons
--messengers deserve to pay less
--non-messengers deserve to pay more
--messengers are poor
--non-messengers are rich
--the organizer desires to decrease the number of non-messengers
--the organizer desires to increase the number of messengers
--the organizer desires to confer differential social status upon messengers and non-messengers

we have done this before. The race was the 666 race. All working messengers didn't have to pay. Non messengers paid like 5 bucks. The main reason why we do it for some races. Most of the working messengers are paying members of the philadelphia bicycle messenger association or volunteer at every alleycat we do. So, we want to give them a brake sometimes.

Either way. 10 bucks for a race is in the norm lately. I hope we haven't made anyone upset..

just go and have fun. my first race was in philly and i think it might have been my favorite. its a great city to race in.

it has been mentioned here time and time again, but 99.9% of alleycats are a very friendly place. so just go and ride you ass off and have a great time.
