We've got a thread working on which is the best LBS.
And I like most shoppers do a fair amount of research on the net before I buy anything. But my selection of on-line stores is limited.

Would love to hear about all your favorite web sites for everything from complete bikes to all the nuts and bolts...

Raining here today - not a great day for a ride. :(

Performance, Nashbar, Jenson, Colorado Cyclist. These are the ones I have used and judge them all to be about the same. That is, I have received what I ordered in a timely fashion. When e-shopping I always know what I am looking for and am going strictly on price. I do like the "team" thing with Performance as it gives me an even larger discount on sales items. And Colorado Cyclist has done a good job with wheels. I've been happy with the four sets I have purchased from them over the past several years. But, like I said, it is price, price, price when e-shopping.

All that said, I try to give business to my LBS as I definitely need him to be here for me. He has tools I don't want to spend my money on. And experience counts for a great deal in many cases.

bulltek is really good.

renaissance cycles for vintage parts.

My favorite so far.. Pricepoint just timely shipping and delivery.

JensonUSA - took extra step to fix my shipping mistake (put wrong address) after it was shipped out.

ColoradoCyclist, shipped wrong bartape and let me keep the wrong one and sent correct one.

SuperGo they are also one of my LBS :)

Cambria - good prices but do not let you know ahead of times if things are not in stock.

Bikeman - Called me on the phone, because one item was backordered and wanted to know what I would like to do. Same day I placed order

MtnHighCyclery, constantly kept me up to date on my order.

RoadTiersDirect - Excellent prices on tiers and fast shipping!

Speeddream - Excellent wheels which are custom built to you! He actualy rides the wheels he sells, and designs them according to you're specs.

Fubar- I just think you had a hunkerin' for those bubble butt pants... that's why you like ebay so much.

C'mon, admit it! It got you hot and bothered, didn't it?

I bought 98% of my bike from BikeSmart.com Their sales rep. worked with me on every aspect of the bike. I know it's dangerous to buy online (sizing-wise). But, I went to my LBS first and they advised me on what size frame I'd need. Unfortunately, they couldn't even come close to BikeSmart's prices. Plus, I'd have been nailed with NYC sales tax. I saved around 600$ by buying out of state. I heard the U.S. Congress wants to add sales tax to internet purchases in the not-so-distant future. That's going to suck if that happens.

Steve

PS: I've also used the other companies mentioned above for small items (clothing, helmet, gloves, etc...). All of these companies are good. I have '0' complaints about shopping online. I've been satisfied with everything I've ordered. In fact, I can't get over the quality of bike equipment these days. This is such a great sport!

GVH bikes http://www.gvhbikes.com/

Bought my ultegra build kit from Gary he spent over 20 min on the phone with me before I bought it. And the best prices I could find, and I always spend a lot of time looking for the best price when I buy on line.

It depends on what you're looking for...

Branfordbikes.com for everything Campy
Lickton (Lickbikes.com) for price matching and small parts like Forster quick-links
Excelsports.com for speciality items
GearLink.com for grouppo pricing
Cbike.com for awesome specials on high-end gear (Campy Euros wheels a while back)
Performance for tubes & other "staples"
Universal for MTB specific stuff -- they also price match
MTBTandems.com for off-road tandems and components

Nashbar.com.

The customer reps are good at directing me to what I'm looking for when I use such descriptive words as "thingie", "thingamajig", and "huh? dunno".

The technical assistants are pretty kind to me. Half the time, I don't know how to ask for what I need, and I always get the same tech guy, and we're laughing like crazy when I call with my latest question. He's got a good sense of humor, and he puts up with all my jokes and funny descriptions. We usually end up talking a little longer than usual. He's cute.

Anyone with experience with supergo.com, what do you think of them? They tend to be a little pricey, so I shy away from them. They still send their catalogs, though.
