Bike film festivals can be fun ways to get non cyclists enthused about bikes. I organized a few here in Cincinnati at local coffee houses. Ofcourse all the serious cyclists showed up, but some non cyclists who happened to be in there seemed to get a kick out of the films. All you need is a DVD player, a digital projector, a sreen and sound equipment. These things can be rented. So, I include here a list of movies and websites with movies (which are free, BTW) which I have shown:
Red Light Go- Alley Cat Racing in New York City http://www.redlightgo.ws (website has preview)
Pedal
Critical Mass- a Documentary about Bike Messengers (Canadian)-- http://dontshootthemessengers.com/
Web videos:
Cincinnati Alley Cat Race videos-- http://flyingpigcourier.com/CincinnatiAlleycatRacing.htm
Lucas Brunelle Alleycat Race videos: http://digave.com/videos/index.htm
Yeah, I know I will catch some heat for suggesting Alleycat videos (Alleycat refers to messenger races).
They at least show the speed and potential for cycling. Until they come up with interesting vehicular cycling videos, really, this is the only fare available to show.

I'd like the idea of an outdoor bike film fest. Like a drive-in for bicycles. First heard of such a thing here (http://oat5tout.blogspot.com/2005/07/bike-in-at-bell-august-20.html).

preview for the red light go looks kind of cool, but i could also see it creating disdain towards cyclists (messenger) because of their blatant disregard for traffic rules and safety.
