Hi there!

I'm an american living in southern Sweden. I used to be an avid mountain biker in northern CA, but stopped about 10 years ago when I moved over here. I brought my bike with me (a Diamond Back Ascent EX from '89) but since there weren't any trails, I lost interest. Now I'm working as a medical researcher and have two small children, which doesn't leave much time for sports, so I bought a used beater road bike (Crescent Fashion Line from the late '90s) and have started commuting to work, about 8 miles each way. Luckily for me, the winter is very late this year so I've got clear roads to train on. I expect the ice and snow will soon arrive, though, which is how I found my way here..... looking for advice on winter biking.

No big goals here, I just want to keep in shape. But maybe if the biking monster in me re-awakes in the spring, I'll start looking for some fun competitions! I also love tinkering with bikes, so maybe I'll start looking for a cheap used racer which needs some fixing up :)

You guys have a great site here, and I appreciate all the info!

/Leif
