my son borrowed my bike I told him that he cannot leave the house without using his Helmet and he met an accident, almost lost his life, he went under the truck and his head was almost crush by the rear tire, his left leg was run over by the tire, he's now under observation, he was not seriuosly hurt he was discharge from the York Hospital In Richmond Hill, Ontario as for my bike was taken by the Police, still doesn't know the damage on the bike, I don't care about the bike, what matter most is my son is safe.....

Woah! Good to here he's ok. When it comes to times like this the bike doesn't matter at all I reckon (I would only care about it in an accident if I was the one riding it, I never worry about myself  )
Good luck for his recovery!

He has already learned the lesson.
Hugs only - and lots of them - are allowed, and I am so glad he seems safe. He will likely take some time to recover emotionally and psychologically from this incident, even though he may seem to "brave it out."

Glad to hear you're son's OK, Racso! That's the important thing. Do let us know about your bike though. How did the accident happen and will insurance cover it?

Yes, I'm glad he's ok now. I got run over when I was a kid too, not fun, and I was fortunately not hurt that bad.

Geez Racso! That sounded serious. Glad he is doing so well. Very easily could have been extremely serious. My prayers are with you and your family.

He has already learned the lesson.
agreed... he's already learned the lesson of his life... he will NEVER do it again... EVER....
just give him all the affection you can... it's the best you can do to show you are there for him... don't act like you are "superior" and punch in what he did wrong... as i'm sure he already knows...
hope he gets better... i'll be watching the news to see if this comes up!
(I live in markham...)

I'm glad your son is OK - he's a very fortunate kid. The wreck sounded like it could have been so much more serious. Stuff like this is what makes up a parent's worst nightmare. His guardian angel was on the job. Take care.

You and your son are in my thoughts. "Almost lost his life" is awfully frightening, but that word "almost" is a wonderful word to put in that sentence. Take care, and love your son more deeply now.

Well, glad he's fine, hope he doesn't hate cycling but learns his lesson.
Wow - I'm sure that this news scared you to death. It scared me just reading about it! I'm really glad to hear that all is going to be well. :)

Forget the insurance. You need to contact an attorney right away. An accident like this is worth several thouand dollars. Seriously. I got $1500.00 in 1989 after being doored by a van. All I got was a scratch. The money was used to buy my first compter which I used throughout college. I can only imagine how much I'd get today. I just took the guy to small claims court and the insuance cut a check within weeks.
You got to do the same. Don't walk away from this. You're blowing thousands of dollars if you just forget it. Take twenty minutes and fill out a small claims court suit for the max. You'll probably never have to go to court as the insuarnce company will settle since it's cheaper than a trial.
It just amazes me how many cyclist get the shXt kicked out of them by motorists and walk away like it was their fault?

Oscar, Im glad to hear he isnt hurt badly, I cringe at the tire marks on his knee, but a coupple of stitches is a fair trade to being run over.
I wish him a speedy recovery, and I also hope your Bike, one too!!
Darn suburban drivers!! Its just not safe like it is here in the smoke!

WOW! Thankfully he received only minor injuries! Make sure he knows he only has 8 lives left! ;-) Glad to hear all is ok. The bike can be replaced, but not your son.

Your son is very lucky, especially since he wasn't wearing a helmet.
