First, you would prolly get more hits in the road cycling page, second I believe you mean *tights ;) and if you already have shorts or bibs with a chamois I prefer my tights to NOT have a chamois.
With a chamois you can wear the tights alone (but you mine as well just buy leg warmers and then you can wear them in a wider temperature range.
Without a Chamois you can pull them over your shorts/bibs on really cold days when you won't need the option to take off leg warmers.
