I think Foo is especially good because most FOOsters are kind, even the ones who try to hide behind a smokey wall of meanness. Yes, you are all good.
Our common link...bikes. Even if some are worth over 10 grand, and some saved from a dumpster, the Foosters don't descriminate. BIG UPs FOR THAT. :)

Aside from that, I am constantly amazed at how well BF members are informed on such a wide variety of subjects. For the most part, most contributors here don't talk above their head.

In talking to my "real world" friends I come across as well informed due to my BF's reading digest. :D

I avoided foo for a long time - thinking it was just where all the silly stupid games were played by people who had no lives and that the 'real' people were in places like the road forum etc etc how utterly wrong i turned out to be...foo is probably the most down to earth 'real' place on BF!!!!

Because there's so much pretense on other boards on BF. Some egotist on the roadie forums goes boasting about his gazillion dollar bike and how he can outclimb Lance. Some shrill headcase in A&S goes screaming about how all motorists should be jailed. It just gets ridiculous.

I never see any of that kind of extremism here. In a forum where folks could be pretentious or boastful or rude, they're not. If someone comes along with something they're proud of, it's in the nature of "hey, something good happened to me or I achieved something, and I want to share it with my friends." Or they raise a legitimate concern or question and ask for help or comments on it.

So, I guess, the short answer is that I feel more comfortable exposing my own ignorance or celebrating my own accomplishment among you folks than anywhere else on BF.

I come because I enjoy it here. It's fun to chat about anything and everything with you guys. I get bored and lonely at work, sitting on my butt all day and so this helps me to retain my sanity. And most of yous guys are super sweethearts. :)
