American equivilant would be the enquirer for the factual content off some off the stories.

Having said that, yes the story is true just flanneled out a little more.

According to the article, it happened in Siloam Springs, Arkansas in October of 2005. I did a google search for Siloam Springs, Arkansas Shayna Richardson (http://www.google.com/search?q=Siloam+Springs%2C+Arkansas+Shayna+Richardson&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a) and got tons of hits, including legitimate news sources.

I'd say it's either real, or an incredibly elaborate hoax.

If it's not in the Weekly World News (http://www.weeklyworldnews.com/), then it's all BS.

That's probably true with a lot of hyperbole. This is also true.

She remained strapped into her flight attendant's seat in the tail section of the plane, which remained attached to the washrooms. The assembly struck the snow-covered flank of a mountain. A terrorist bomb was thought to be the cause. Vulović broke both legs and was temporarily paralyzed from the waist down. No other passengers survived. [1]

It's possible that it's true. People have survived similar.

Or would you rather say:
"I'm dying, but I sure had lots of sex and a HELL of a lot of fun while I was here!"

Personally, I'd choose the second.
