Hi,

I'm looking to buy a relatively cheap speedometer (my bike only cost $5). Could someone recommend a starting level one to me?
By the way, they're all magnetically activated, right, and they don't rub against the rim to get a reading, right? Just wondering. Thanks.
In mind I had the Enduro-2 by Cat Eye (I think). Thanks again.

I've had a Cateye Enduro for 2 years now and so far it's been bullet-proof. No problems whatsoever. A magnet mounts on your spokes which passes by a sensor which clamps to your fork leg. Hope this helps. DG

Or if you don't need anything fancy, the CatEye Velo2, which I think is their least expensive, is fine, very legible, etc. And when you change batteries, you can put the accumulated mileage back in so you don't lose it.

I will also give the Voice of Approval to the CatEye Enduro 2. I have abused the hell out of mine and it just keeps working. Latest incident - left it on the bike overnight during a torrential downpour. Got damp inside, which was easily cured by allowing the unit to dry without the battery cover on. Works just fine now. The difference between the Mity 3 and the Enduro 2 is the E2 cable is more robust and the E2 has multiple wheel settings, one specifically for MTB.

Money well spent in my opinion.
