Classic & Vintage - Anyone Recognise these fancy lugs?

Anyone recognise these lugs in the pics. Trying to identify manufacturer of this old frame with track type ends. The lugs are quite fancy. Bottom bracket has the serial number 87277 undernath the letter V. Also stamped on BB is "British", with, I think "made". The BB may have ben repared at some time as there is what looks like brass (?) braze evident. On the LHS of the BB it appears there is a hole for a grease nipple, but it is all painted over. I'm presuming this indicates someting from at least the 1960s???

Anyonegot any ideas? Purchased in Sydney Australia. Previous owner thought it could be a Speedwell track bike.

Plenty of local bikes were made with BSA 'fittings'. Malvern Star founder Bruce Small brought them into Oz from WW1 until after WW2.

So what era do you think this frame could be? Before 1950's? Seat post diameter is 26.6mm. Rear drop outs 115mm Does that help identify???

I'm not an expert on this but the headset style suggests it is not pre-war. Is there anything on the fork steerer tube?

Ha. I was watching that bike as well. You got a pretty nice deal. I doubt it's a Malvern as there were no starts cut into the fork crown. The serial number and placement don't match MS either. Could be speedwell? Could also be a MS offshoot. You should email the pics to the Canberra Bicycle Museum, they are pretty helpful:

It isn't a Malvern Star (though not all of them had star-shaped cutouts) but it could be BSA fittings (brought into Oz by MS) which were used by a number of manufacturers. It could be any of several dozen makers.

Another vague possibility (I don't have enough knowledge to comment sensibly) is the British Cycle Corporation. I don't know if they made their own BB shells or if they exported for use by other makers.
