Anyone recognise these lugs in the pics. Trying to identify manufacturer of this old frame with track type ends. The lugs are quite fancy. Bottom bracket has the serial number 87277 undernath the letter V. Also stamped on BB is "British", with, I think "made". The BB may have ben repared at some time as there is what looks like brass (?) braze evident. On the LHS of the BB it appears there is a hole for a grease nipple, but it is all painted over. I'm presuming this indicates someting from at least the 1960s???

Anyonegot any ideas? Purchased in Sydney Australia. Previous owner thought it could be a Speedwell track bike. I tried the Classic Forum but no joy.

Cheers

Someone recently posted a bike with a "British" stamped BB shell either here or in the Classic and Vintage forum. Don't know if "British" was unique to any one marque, but its possible there is a connection at least. Are the dropouts stamped with a brand? It looks like they may be.

The front drop outs are Gipieme but I believe the forks are not original as they are chrome sloping crown Italian style. No name on rear drop outs.

yes! The paintjob is a horrible fluro yellow with lugs outlined in marker pen. I'm thinking lilac with white outlining for the repaint but would love to know what it is so I can get some maker's transfers
