Hey guys i go to school in st. louis and i recently got into bikes. i have access to a bunch of parts and i also own a couple groupsets but i have yet to find a frame that id like to build up. il be back in nyc over winterbreak and id like to hit up all the goodwills, dumpsters, and swapmeets possible. im casting a pretty wide net and i have no problem driving upstate or to nj.
ive gotten a couple frames off of ebay but its really a sellers market...
If you're in NYC drop by Times-Up (http://times-up.org) on a Tuesday or Thursday night; there's a bunch of used frames they can sell you.

id say check the craigslist for locals or some where not to far of a drive!!

It is on Fifth Ave. They have an incredible selection of frames hanging from the ceiling. (This is by way of eye candy, not cheap alternative to eBay...)

Try posting a want-ad in your local Freecycle. http://www.freecycle.org/

Ask the police what they do with the crap they collect. If you scuba, check a local pond. propertyroom.com for example.
