Hi All

My bike: A 2001 Scott Comp Racing came with Rockshox Judy C forks with 80mm travel. These are now well and truly worn out and I am planning to replace them with Marzocchi MX Comp ETA - 2003 Forks with 105mm travel but after reading other threads I am concerned about my frames suspension corrected value. Does anybody know if I will get away with this extra 25mm travel?? And before you say it I don’t want to run extra sag or convert these forks to 80mm. Quite simply if they wont work I wont buy them..

Any advice greatly appreciated - Thanks in advance
Steve

25mm is a big jump but not THAT big...you usually have 20mm to play with either direction. For me the 25mm would probably be fine but you have to realize it WILL change the way you bike handles. The steering and ride position will feel quite different.

It may take a ride or two to adjust your riding style to suit the deeper suspension.

I did a similar upgrade and ended loving the new geometry and handling of the bike.

Your scoot will handle differently, but you very well may like the new geometry. Your steering will be a bit slower, but your downhill experience may very well improve.

Sorry, that's the extent of my knowledge-base on front-end geometry. Good luck!!! :)

Bit of a late follow up to this thread, but I've just read it and was wondering if you went for it with the fork upgrade? I've got a Scott Expert Racing and was thinking of sticking the same set of forks on it and wondered if it had worked out for you.

Bummer, just checked and that was Steve's only post on this site to date so don't think I'm gonna get an answer! Hello anyone else, I'm new here... ;)
