Ms. Eubi had major surgery last week, and my mother-in law was kind enough to be with her at home during the week. My wife is suposed to stay off her feet, which is very difficult for a woman who many refer to as the "Energizer Bunny". Now that my mother in law went home, it will take me a while to get the house back to normal.
My house is decorated in early caveman. She took all of my magazines out of my magazine rack and made one pile. Thankfully, my wife kept her from throwing some away.
"But this one is from May 2003."
"Yeah, I haven't read it yet!"
I took pains to clean before mother in law showed up. I didn't want her cleaning my house her way. Her house is spotless, with doilies (which she made herself) on every chair arm. I have my pride.
Now last night I try to cook, and can't find: Frying pan lid, spatula, tongs, salt. I had to admit, mom in law did a good job of hiding them. She really was sweet, though. I did the cooking and she did the washing. It just didn't occur to me that she would become very creative on where she put everything away.
In the end I'm very glad she was there to look after Ms. Eubi. Thanks Mom in law! Come again next year!
