So we are getting ready to go over to my grandmas (down the street) for an early christmas dinner/family get together. My mother and I were in the kitchen and out of nowhere we turn around to these. I am truly speechless right now and have the greatest dad. :D I still have a lot of presents to open as well, jeez.

Dude don't worry about it, just because your parents may or may not be able to afford a 1000 dollar bike doesn't mean they don't love you. I know my family, they would never have spent over 200 on a bike for me. For some reason they don't approve of spending more than 200 hundred on a bicycle. Besides that through the years the one bike that meant alot to me was the hand me down bmx bike I got from my brother that we spray painted yellow and sea-foam green. It ended up cracking through the top tube and bottom tube, due to heavy use and rust(we used to live a minutes walking distance from the beach).

My point being, take whatever you get and be thankful. The bike's you'll most appreciate are the ones someone gave you, even if they aren't a 1000 dollars. Sbw is perfect proof of that, she's getting a cool old bike from another member. I know it'll mean alot more to her than all the bikes she bought on her own.

I personally got my trek 930 for free from my uncle, who now is about to pass away. No matter what I'll always love this bike more than any other.

Today we all went riding. All I can say is my bike is very nice.

The drivetrain is spot on and is very very precise. The Fox rear shock is awesome. I used lockout when I was riding the roads to the trail, propedal when I was on flat, fairly smooth singletrack, and open for everything else. The bike handles a lot better than previous specialized full suspension models I have ridden. The fork is really nice as well. All of the bontrager components are very nice too. I really love everything about this bike and am very happy and greatful. I would strongly recommend the trek fuel series to anyone. I would even suggest it over specialized as well. However, everyone has their own opinions and thoughts. I, myself, have been a die hard specialized rider until 3 months ago when I rode a trek hardtail. I find the geometry on the trek to be a lot more suiting for my type of riding. (XC and Aggressive XC/AM). Hope this review helped.

My old specialized was a 03' Epic Disk. I also had a specialized hardrock pro.
