I was out riding this afternoon when I saw a car passing another on a curve in a no-passing zone. The problem was that the jerk doing the illegal pass was in my lane coming at me  .

The car being passed pulled as far to the right as possible. I pulled as far to the right as possible (rural road no sholder). The pa**h*le missed us both by inches. It was full daylight, no sun, I had my LED blinkie running. The driver being passed saw me as soon as I was visible and pulled right immediately. The passer had plenty of time to slow and pull back in but didn't.

I am asking for forgiveness because I flipped her the bird as she passed. Jerk:mad: .

I'm glad you're alright.

When I'm riding I regard every vehicle on the road as a ferocious, caged, carniverous, bicycle eating animal. Any of them is capable of doing great harm to a cyclist. You just have to drive defensively, which you did, all the time.

I guess I qualify to weigh in on this one: No harm done. It's only one little finger. Forgiveness is yours. Now go and miss shifts no more!

I suppose, in some sense, it's a good thing you didn't have to ask Him in person. ;)

Bob is a youngster (fifty plus in training). My guess is he's 48. I forgive him cause he's got a great name.
