Foo - How many MP3 files?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Love my music.
about 6 gigabytes, not sure how many songs that equals.
edit: all of them are legal, of course. No, seriously, they were all downloaded legally.

1300 at last count. (Mostly) legal. :)
I'm the kinda guy who listens to mp3s on his computer 99% of the time, but feels agitated if he doesn't have the actual CD in the album with the cover and art sitting on the shelf next to him. It's kind of a weird thing, especially for a high school kid I guess. Most of my friends have thousands of illegal songs and don't own a single disc.
46GB (11196) files on my portable hard drive collected over 12 years. I hate music but I love parties (and they love me).
How do the USB hard drives compare to internal in terms of speed when dealing with these mp3's?

Not sure about USB. I have a FireWire external drive that I used with my old laptop for music when I was running out of hard disk space. I noticed no difference. When I had to get a new machine, I moved everything over.

I have so many, I don't give numbers publically in case RIAA spies are watching. (Even though most of mine are legit)

447, all from my own CD's...and frustratingly not increasing very quickly because after I rip one disc and stick the next one in, I get "The request could not be performed due to an I/O device error" until I restart.
I just happened to be trying to figure this out at the moment I saw your poll. If I ever get it figured out the number will double.
