Since when did a 34" inseam become so freakin rare when trying to buy pants or jeans? Every year it seems like it's harder to find britches that are my size. At 6"1" I'm hardly a giant...

Kids wear pants below their hips, so 32" is plenty long. :p

I have a similar problem. I'm a 5'10" female, and 125 pounds (mostly muscle), and have trouble finding the right fit. The right waist has the clothes too short. The right length has the clothes waaaay too big. What's a gal to do? Most especially when looking for that perfect chamois in the perfect short?
I mean, I want to show off my lines, dig? ;)
Foo Ladies? [I'm a roadie, BTW]
awww Chip, I bet you would look SO CUTE in a pair of capri pants.;) Especially if they were in a color that matched your eyes. Is bloodshot a color?:D

Seriously...is a 34" inseam just that common that it is always sold out, or is everything made overseas where they just ain't that tall? It's worse when you get to the larger waists...I wear a 36 or 38, depending on the time of year...and most have only 30" inseams. I've looked at the bigger waist sizes...same thing, like if you got a big waist you must have short little legs like my grandpa did!

I've also found dept. store clothes to be larger than usual this year. I've been wearing a primarily large shirts for a year or so. THis year, large is HUGE. I've had to step down to medium. Maybe the Chinese are catering to the stereotypical American

Nah...I bought them all:D Tell me about it I am a 36w34inseam and finally had to order a couple pair of dress slacks online. Now I am on the hunt for a pair of size 11 medium width plain black lace up leather dress shoes...Unfortunately from what I have seen the stores take what the manufacturers send them and apparently people in our size range are SOL. We (mainly my wife) has a bridal shop and occasionally the manufacturers will pull that crap on us, but they get it right back because we order our sizes based on the averages of the sizes we sell.

Preach it brother. Now try to find a 34 leg with a 32 waist! The downside of having a cyclist's build.

Been there, done that. Been a few years, but yeah, that was even worse. My wife's great cooking makes sure I stay at least a 32" these days.

Just a 32 leg, but try finding a 29 waist anywhere in North America anymore. That's one advantage of living in Asia for me...

I remember being a 29, it was hard indeed. I just got a size 30 or 31 and wore a belt.

5'11 1/2" (short one in my family) - and I've never had a problem getting long inseams at the Gap. 34" minimum, prefer 36". Also, try www.sierratradingpost.com - sometimes they have some good deals in these "weird" sizes. Old Navy also has long inseams on line. Happy long-legged hunting!

I've noticed this trend too. Medium is the new large.
And as far as the lack of 34's on the shelf... it's a common size, they sell out fast.

Are you kidding, silly - I just washed my hair and I can't do a THING with it. Are those new shoes? :D
I'm hip, Chipcom. I feel your sartorial pain.
To fit my butt (It's mostly muscle, thanks VegaVixen :D) I have to buy 42 (!) waist pants. As a result, my waist is cinched up like a trash bag.
Shirts have to be XXL to fit my shoulders (I play lots of Raquetball). Ever try to find XXL jersey or jackets in a bike shop? Not bloody likely. Of course, that XXL also helps to hide my bulging stomach muscles. I'm very shy...

I agree with this this chipcom! I buy pants that look like capris on me and im only 5'8, now for nylons I have to go with queen size so it will be long enough for my legs! size 4 in a queen size!
My dad was about 6'3", 320 lbs. I've seen the inside of a Big 'n Tall store.
I just didn't figure I would ever wind up there too.

Naw, i just knocked the mud off them, but thanks for noticing.
Gotten any new tools lately? Got my eye on a plunge router down at Home Depot. I want a new tool belt too, as the one I have now makes my hips look big.

I'm 5'10'' and I wear a 31 waist/33 inseam.
I don't understand how 54/30 comes to be, I saw one at Target.

Nordstrom's sells tights and nylons in talls, so you can get them long and smaller. Queen size has never been long enough for me, no matter what I weigh.
Yeah, and you end up with the waist band around your arm pits. Ack!
