Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Man, I used to play lots of basketball and volleyball, but I haven't played once since I started cycling 5 months ago. Today I played and I felt like I completely ripped my quads right above the knee. OW!
Should I be doing a lot of fast twitch sports over the winter?

My knees hurt just thinking about it.
Basketball will give you some weight-bearing exercise, which is something many cyclists need. Just take it easy when you start out - your aerobic conditioning will let you work out far longer than you should...
