Hello,
I live in the high desert area and brand new to road biking. I got into it due to injury after injury in other sports, including running. I am looking for a group or even just a few individuals I can start riding with on weekends (if local then even during the week). I am loving everytime I get on the bike. I had know idea how much I would enjoy it. I just got an '06 K2. Anway, if anyone can help me out or knows of a site I can go to in order to find groups that would be great. Also any good riding tips would be great too!!!

from where you are you can head towards Wrightwood, good climbing to be found there; you can also head around (hwy 173, Arrowhead Lake Rd leaving out of Hisperia) the 'back' way to Silverwood Lake --it's a pretty area, and the climb to Silverwood isn't anything to sneeze at either...

Hi welcome to cycling. I know you live way out there - but try and look up the Riverside Cycling Club. It's very active, is a good group of people and they do alot of remote rides, no doubt some out in your area. They website is riversidebicycleclub. org.

The BF group does alot of rides, some of them also remote but it looks like you are looking for a regular weekend group. If you don't mind traveling to OC, there are several large clubs 2 of which have active beginners groups - Bicycle Club Of Irvine (bikeirvine.org) and Orange County Rebel Riders (ocrebels.com).

Usually yhe LBS can provide you with some safe routes and places to ride. Good luck have fun!!!
