It makes Balcom look like a roller. :)

http://vmac.smugmug.com/photos/17909644-S.jpgDoesn't look steep to me. If it was, the pedestrians would be wearing harnesses and be clipped in to fixed ropes. LA people must be soft.

 Yes, and I think Grumpy should have to match Francis' record since it isn't steep to him at all. ;) :D

It's easy to talk big when I have a full year to make up an excuse.

I like your new avatar, Grumpy. It's like Oscar or the Cookie Monster. Cute. :p :D

yeah...everyone commented on that and its a no parking area anyway! They have a no parking area? If they had that ride in San Diego, they'd allow traffic during the event.

Great to see everyone again, and especially to meet so many BF'ers for the first time.

My eyes are still a bit blinded from Lee's super fine rims.
Scoot's carradice bag is far more luxurious than any piece of luggage I have ever owned.
Joel is a great protector of... the fairest one on any ride. (It took me a long time to figure out how to say that without insulting either one of you. I hope I succeeded. :p )
Steve would have easily made it up Fargo, but I think he was a victim of circumstances (like the parked car in exactly the wrong spot).
Nice tandem zWillz.
And M.E. almost "whipped it out" (what "it" is, we all would like to know).

Very nice ride around Elysian Park afterwards. I had never been -- I've seen so much more of the greater LA area thanks to fellow bikers, than I ever would have otherwise.
I just read this now as Joel pointed out that he was so touched that you called him a protector and that you liked his ride...he is so going to give me **** for this one. :p ;) :D

Actually, what I said was "by protector, I think he means when I yell - 'get out of the middle of the road, dumbass'" at her.

it's susie, and we're getting better. we rode up verdugo to foothill to see the greyhound adoption people and then rode back over foothill to sunland. i always forget how much hillier it is that way as opposed to just coasting down verdugo. she did really good climbing all that. we're not fast but she handled it well just kept on pedalling. she's done a number of rides in the mid 50 mile range. we'll come to a ride soon

Did anyone happen to notice the successful climbers list:

http://lawheelmen.org/fargo2007results.htm

Francis beat last years record with 51. Too bad that other guy climbed it 90 times. His 9 year old son climbed it 4 times.

I'm not worthy...

My father in law (http://www.pbase.com/coaster/image/76240007) got last year's record but was beat out this year, with "only" 82...
