Hi there,
I have an Apollo road bike with Sora, and the BB is loose
Its a: Cartridge Bottom Bracket - BB-UN40-Double
(as copied from shimano.com) Is it possible to tighten a cartridge BB? or does it need replacing?

replaced with an Ultegra BB..... 25% discount and free installation cause I used to work for them and I bought the bike off them.

Doesnt mean im completely happy....im damned p!ssed that I had to replace the thing after 3000km

I've heard that given enuf tough riding, BBs tend to break down sooner than you think. I'm sure the Ultegra will bring you better luck.

hmmm.. how did you fixed the SORA cranks to Ultegra BB? 105, Ultegra & DA bottom bracket are spline whereas SORA & Tiagra are square. ??

It was square...... model numba UN 73

To anyone else that might need a square taper bb, get 'em while you can. Shimano's already phasing out the good ones, starting with Dura Ace.
Then, it was a UN73 BB, not an Ultegra...........
FWIW, Shimano phased out the D/A BB's several years ago.
