According to Sram's website, the carbons are also intended for freeride and downhill while the Sevens are not.
These are the same brakes, correct?
I thought the only difference was the lighter C and Ti hardware on the carbons that makes the them a whole 9 grams lighter than the Sevens.
Oh yea, and are the 2007's the same as the 2006's with the exception of the new G2 rotor?
Thanks

what's wrong with Juicy 5's? i just got mine with 185mm rotors for 84 bucks a piece!! sweet!! if you ask me, they're a better brake for abuse potential. if you don't mind a tad more grams they are cheaper and they will feel the same as the 7's

edit:

to answer your questions. yes, i believe your assertions are correct.

Was that $84 for new 2007s?
I am debating the 5's but sometimes I have nothing better to do with my money so why not?

no, actually it is the older ones that need to be slid onto bars....not 2-piece perch. the place i got them from had it labeled wrong...but i am not going to make a deal of it. i am assuming the ones i got are 2005. i have a pair on my Vagrant so i already know they work great. the one piece perch has never been an issue with me so i am still happy.

yeah, i am sure the 7's are great. i am all for spending money...i have Hopes as well

Could someone else please comment on this? I'm all for being a weight weenie, but it seems hard to believe someone would spend almost $100 to save 9 grams.
