Just in case you do, and you didn't know about it (fairly unlikely), this place is getting close to completion:

I go past here almost every day, the photo in the link does not even begin to show the BMX stuff. If anyone is interested, I'll take pics and add them later.

Pretty cool. I hope more towns start putting up parks like that, so many places just throw up a couple grass parks with tennis courts and a baseball field and pretend that's all the entire population of the town needs.

Yeah, I kept passing it thinking it was just something for climbers then spotted the halfpipe being put in. I guess I'll go take photos. Funny thing is that it's being put in right next to a senior citizen retirement community!

Get the old folks out on some Rampars, PK Rippers and Stingrays to show those young whippersnappers a thing or two about old school.

I like the name, X Park. You know it's for eXtreme things because it has an "X" in it.
Can't really see much from the tiny photo, but it sounds like fun.

I couldn't take photos of the whole thing--too muddy around the back part--and the workmen are still there putting more stuff in. When it's finished and open to the public I'll climb on something tall and take a few more photos. Fantomas, I think it would be worth the drive, but not yet! Unless you just want to check it out for yourself. I asked one of the men working there if he knew when it was supposed to be officially open; he thought it was supposed to be in the spring of 2007.

Wow. If I lived in one of those houses I'd probably be at the park half the day every day between may and october :p
How far is that from LA?

MadMan2k, according to Google:
Total distance: 1125.7 mi
Estimated time: 16 Hours, 18 Minutes
Most of the houses in the background are the senior citizen retirement community. Some of them (the cream coloured ones) are apartments, though.

Makes me wish we had a decent park to make up for our crappy street.
Our park consists of a bowl, and a few ledges/stairs.

Nah, you'd have to be in Puget Sound at least to make it easy! Best bet is to wait to move here until you become a geezer and move into the SCRC :D .

We've got one of the 'bowl/ledges/stairs' down on the Interurban Trail in the Kent Valley. It's not very exciting.
I still don't know why we have something this spectacular up here on the East Hill. Not going to complain about it though, I'll just enjoy.

Well you could always move it to Smithtown so I can enjoy it, and then you can complain.
