Anyone wear this Gore Wear Add-Tec II long sleeve jersey? Got any comments, criticisms, observations? I'm considering it for my outer layer on all but the coldest days.

I just did a long thread on gore tex... you can find it here... with all its glory and criticism.

I'm not so familar with the Gore Wear Add-Tec, but it seems like its based on a Windstopper material.
I have a Windstopper jacket that works very well, however it is a thinner unit.
No comment on the actual garment in question.
If its made with windstopper, that means its the same expanded membrane used in regular goretex but without the added drw coating (what goretex was originally supposed to be), and without taped seams. In cold windy weather you'll probably like it since you'l be looking for lots of added thermal properties. In moderate temperatures, your gonna sweat to death.
So really depends on your climate, conditions you ride in, and wether you want warmth or breathability.

Well, I took a chance & bought this jersey
...and holy crap, you were right! This thing is unbelievably warm & windproof, especially considering how lightweight it is, but MAN, it doesn't breathe at all! Like a freakin' rainforest in there. Yuck. So it's definitely going back to the vendor.
It's not really a jersey anyway, more of a winter jacket albeit an almost magically thin/lightweight jacket. That doesn't breathe.
Heh, people never believe me :)
I've gone thru the same as you, have many peices in a closet i never wear anymore. Now i'm just trying to stop fellow cyclists from spending money and being disapointed.
Good thing you can return it. If you do find one you like, let us all know :)
