Mountain Biking - Breadown this years miles

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We all see the stat's listed in Lowcel's sig, but how many miles were on hard tail? how many full suspension, and how many road bike? I rode significantly less miles total this year than last, but more miles were on mountain bikes this year, and I have to say I enjoyed myself a whole lot more. Here's mine
731 miles, Full susser
985 miles, Hardtail
1288 miles, Road Bike
I haven't updated that in a while, keep forgetting about it. :( I did glance at my spreadsheet last night and saw that I have worked out (bike, running, gym, etc) around 300 or so days this year. I slowed down a lot starting in October. I'm just now getting back into it.

I slowed down alot in October too, About fifteen pounds heavier now! WOW 300 days, you didn't take too many rest days, did you? Funny when Pete say's he rode a bunch, A get the feeling it's probably twice what any of us did!
Yeah, I'm between ten and fifteen pounds heavier myself. I have no doubt that Pete rode a lot more than I did. Same goes for kona! He put some serious miles in.

Highly doubtful.
I'm more of a quality vs. quantity type. My favorite local ride takes about an hour to clear four miles. Miles just for miles sake has no appeal to me. It's about how much fun you're having. I would rather ride ten miles of quality singletrack than 30 miles crappy trail/gravel path/rails-to-trails.
I also spend many days off the bike doing other things with family and friends (20+ days skiing last year, over 130 engine hours put on our wakeboat, etc.)
Variety is the spice of life.
Nice. How many lapping days do you manage to do?
Seriously, who cares. I don't have a computer on either bike. I feel like I'm in the roadie forum..

For me, no exact numbers, but unfortunately I only rode 700 or 800 miles. Between studying and biking, I can only devote myself to 1 thing hardcore, and unfortunately it was the studying :p

Sorry, but I've got to ask. If you feel so strongly about not caring why did you open this thread? Not only did you open the thread that you had no interest in you took the time to post about something that you have no interest in. ;)
Pete said the same thing basically, why dont you pick on him. Or anyone else who posts useless information on a topic they know nothing about, and don't care about. There wouldn't be a bike forums if people didn't do this. Sorry I offended you.

Work much?...
seriously thats the way I view it. Some of my favorite trails don't clock in my miles, but the trails are quality.

I agree with you. I track time and miles both but have always emphasized the miles. Next season, i will be focused on hours and specific types of riding. My time and miles will likely both increase though because I will be starting a new job in Jan and hope to be able to commute often.
How much did a ride? Lots, but not as much as i would have liked.
Road bike - 3,677
Mountain bike - 750
Running - 45 whopping miles
Total time - 310.6 hours
Gym time - 25 hours (just recently started back)
Total calories - 209,528

I wasn't picking on anyone. I was just replying to your comment. As for offended.......it takes much more than this to offend me. :) I just find it amusing that people actually take time to comment on something that they don't even care about.

Started on March 30th. Had a terrible first race on April 2nd. Injured my knee in July, and couldn't bike until the 2nd week of August. Had a great last race on October 29th, and haven't biked since then. :(

I like having a computer for several reasons. I like to watch the actual time spent spinning the wheels which gives me an idea of how long I have been actually riding for. Also, when following unfamiliar trails, it is nice to have a map that tells you "fork at 4.1 miles," but how do you know where the 4.1 mile fork is unless you have a computer.

Actually Born2BAhick started this thread, the rest of us opened it up and read it once it was already started. :D
As far as your 30 miles, congratulations! That's much better than zero miles. I'm sure next year will be much, much better.

Getting back to the lame, roadie-type stats:
Road ~2,300km
Hardtail ~3,800km
Freeride ~2,000km
It's pretty sad when my road bike barely edges out my vp-free for mileage. I need to get some more long road rides in next year.

Wheelhot, how many miles/km you got?
No clue on mine. Best guess would be about 500 trail miles.
