Mountain Biking - Outrage

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Not really. Even though Schwinn is selling out, and they have crappy customer service.....I still want a Moab, and I am going to get one one of these days.

Fubar,
Currently, Supergo has the 2001 Moab 2 for $699.00 (ground shipping $27.00). When the 31st rolls around I am going to order one if they have my size (17") in stock.

With the financial difficulties that Schwinn is having, you can probably get a great deal on a Schwinn or even a GT.
Only thing to think about is that if Schwinn is sold to Huffy you MAY (depending on what Huffy does with Schwinn) have to deal with the Mongoose syndrome.
But still, if you can get a great deal go for it. The Moab is an excellent frame.

Oh ghods. "Mongoose Syndrome", the horrible malady where
a formerly excellent brand name was reduced in value in a
misguided attempt to bring cut-rate product bearing the former
entity's good name in department stores and the like where
chimps and monkeys attempt to assemble them, thus further
reducing any value the brand ever had. Very sad. All in the name
of giant profits to corporate robber baron wall street types.
-Mongoose Owner (yes, it was bought at a real bike shop).
