News & Announcements - 75,000 members strong!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Our 75,000th member registered yesterday!
We hit 30,000 just last may (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=104830), we have averaged 75 new members a day for the last 18 months!
The community created 150,000 new threads, and 2.5 million new posts in that same time period!
Very impressive, keep up the good posting and remember to keep the site newbie friendly! :)

Awesome, Joe! Popular forum you've got going here! I'm pulling an all nighter since I'm flying out at 6AM (supershuttle is picking me up at 3:30) - so, wide awake but no one to talk to! All 75k members must be asleep! :D

The better question is how much of that number logs on more than once a month?

Of course a tiny minority. But the truth of it is, that's the same with every large forum.

- so when are ABG, Specialized, Trek, Bell and others going to start taking out corporate advertising?
(are their marketing departments run by idiots? where are the Bell coupons for a new 2007 Atmos? what about a free saddle bag for a new 2007 Trek?)

How many are donating?
We're all part of a sleeper cell too.

wow, that's incredible! Imagine now if they all donated to a place that offers them so much, now we'd be talking!
congrats Joe!
Err - feeling guilty? No one's saying anything negative about non-red starrers, but we are curious how the red star experiment is working out for the health of the site. I believe Joe once said that it would be successful if 2% or 3% of the total population (about 2,250) did get a red star.

Sounds like, looks like, smells like, feels like and tastes like! Lucky you
I think you counted Explody Pup and Eboo twice. It is hard to count them as they are always all tangled up and wriggling around. So it is really only 74,998. Still not bad though.

How much of it is Foo??
This is all because of the NTWC. We did this. Without the ntwc thread we wouldn't have like millions of posts.

cold dose of reality>> "75,000" "members" with around 600 members viewing at the time of this post = low volume forums
lotsa "air" in that statistic
Hey man - no quips about my weight!
I think this site is awesome and thanks Joe for all the work you and the other silent peeps do to keep it running smoothly!! :)
