Hi all, I have an ebay dawes lightning road bike.
It has the stock stem, I think its at least 100 mm + (horizontal length)...
My problem is that I bought a frame that is at least 1 size bigger than what I needed but I'm stuck with it...
So far the bike is rideable for me, however I am having lots of pain in my wrists and lower back from the extra long stretch to reach the hoods..
I searched on ebay and only found 2 shorter stems and they are both for thew newer forks without quill...
THen I found a " mini bmx " quill stem of DK brand...
it looks like this:

It seems like this might be the solution to my problem however I am not sure if the bars will fit between the 4 bolt clamp.. I am capable of milling it down using a grinder if I have 2 ...
Anybody have a better suggestion for how I can solve this problem ?
