A good deal?

I'm seriously considering buying this. Whaddya think? A good deal? Size is *perfect* for me, and I've been lusting after a cross bike (already have road, mtb, and a fixie...)

Does Trek make the xo1 in 53? I thought it was 52 or 54.

I think the bike is probably "officially" a 52, but if you measure it it's really a 53. At least, that's the case with my WSD road bike - it's a 52 but the actual measurements are 53/53.

do you the think the seller is being honest about the actual measurements?

assuming that it would fit, whaddya think?

its a fair set up, new xo1 frames are about 550.00 new , Im not really a fan of barcon shifters but thats just me. If youre buyinbg this purley as a race bike, remember its a good idea to go about one frame size smaller then you ride on the road. If youre buying it as a multi purpous bike. Roads, wet weather, trails , cross . then it might be a good buy

I was considering that bike, but the shifters and lack of front derailleur discouraged me. I bought a Flyte with a Flyte carbon fork, Campy Scirocco wheels and Campy 10sp Centaur group locally instead. I'm happy with my choice.

I have the same gold frame and barcons. I really like the bike but I cannot help think that $600 is a little too high. I payed about $250 for mine two years ago almost complete with no shifters or brake levers or pedals. So I may have a total of $450 in it just to get it to run and that was 2 years ago. Having one chainring on a cross bike is very typical and is a great idea. I would not be disuaded by that.

The XO-1 and the LeMond Poprad are really nice cross bikes. I hope that LeMond see's the light and offers the Poprad without those really dumb disk brakes next year. Canti's are fine and you don't need special wheels.

Concerning barend shifters - after you get used to them they're as good as Brifters and they are 1/4th the price or less. And I like them so much I now have them on 4 of my bikes, two cross and two road.

I have 9 speed STI on my pit bike and bar ends on my main ride (8 speed) and I actually like them better. I run them in friction mode and can dump the whole cassette up or down on demand. And in a pich I can run 8,9, or 10 speed wheel. I can't even imagine running 10 speed STI. I would be so annoyed by having to click my way through cogs trying to feel a gear that actually makes a difference.
