Southern California - Anybody else organizing a Funcace Creek 508 team?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am planning on the 508 (http://www.the508.com) and think that the BF group is planning on having a couple of teams.

Are you doing it alone?..My thread is only a joke. But If I were to do it I would do it alone....errr,attempt it alone:eek:
I am planning on splitting the Hoodoo 500 with one other guy and completing the 508 as a team of 4. I have enough other events and occurances this year without worrying about training for a solo 508 attempt.

Probably why I won't attempt it. I'd like to do it alone, but I don't want to train!:D
Now I see the photos (since I am at home) and I understand wanting to do the route solo instead of being paired with him/her/it...

This is not that bad, and just think of how much beer I am going to want to drink after riding 1/4 of the 508!!!
9/15 HooDoo 500 (http://www.planetultra.com/Hoodoo500/index.htm) (either 2) - 512 miles, ~30,000 feet of gain
9/22 Everest Challenge (http://www.everestchallenge.com/) - 208 miles, 29,035 feet of gain
9/29 Moonlight Magic (http://www.planetultra.com/Moonlight/index.htm) - 100 miles during the full moon, 2850 feet of gain
10/5 Furnace Creek 508 (http://www.the508.com/) (4 people on the team) - 508 miles (duh!), ~35,000 feet of gain
10/11 Great American Beer Festival (http://www.beertown.org/events/gabf/index.htm) - Denver, CO, 5280 feet of gain
10/13 MS150 Bay to Bay (http://www.ms150baytobay.com/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=154261) - 150 miles, ~4500 feet of gain
