What is "SPc"? I have two Italian threaded Record bottom brackets stamped "70-SPc" that measure 111mm. Is this the correct BB for my 1984 C-Record crankset?

My guess is that C-Record road and track both use the same 111mm BB, hence the "SP". Is the "c" for C-Record? Am I close?

I am reading too much stuff an now getting confused. Are both English and Italian C-Record BB 111mm? Or is the English one shorter?

The width of the bearing surfaces will be different to accomidate the difference in width between UK and Italian shells (68/70) but the overall length should be the same. Don't know about spc, though.

To my understanding, that is correct. Strada/Pista.

I've been led to believe the C is for c-record, but I'm not positive -- if you have the matching cup + cages for the spindle, and it has 11 bearings, its Chorus/Croce. 14, C-Record. (1/4" v. 7/32" bearings)

The 111mm is correct for C-Record, Croce + Chorus of the era. Even the 1984 C-Record. English or Italian.

well.. over here i have an italian 111mm spindle for 7/32" bearings marked 'SP'
..no 'c'
