Foo - And Another Bellydance Video...

Ok, so its not as cool as the other one, but its kind of fun. :p Joe installed some new video software on the Mac, so I was just playing around last night. Nothing spectacular, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Fun! you look so serious though; that may be part of the routine. I just expected you to break out in a big grin when the tempo picked up, it looks like so much fun!

I smiled a little bit, but really I was just practicing and messing around. When I'm dancing to an audience or with my troupe I smile a lot more. :) And yeah, it IS fun! :)

I've been dancing for almost 5 years!!! I started with my mom in Spring of 2002. :)

That was awesome. Hard to believe they have a belly dancing troupe in SLC. lol

now with that said, things like these can only be done in the proper supporting environment, I pictured myself dancing half naked in my livingroom,and trust me it wouldnt have the same effect with my two kids screaming for dinner,my hubby looking at me as if I have two heads and not to mention that I cant relax anyway!
Id turn a belly dance into a scene from "she's a maniac" from flashdance!

There are a TON of belly dancers in Utah. The festival in the summer last for 3 days and goes from 12pm-10pm. The festival in Spring goes from 10am-10pm and there is a HUGE waiting list! :)

LOL, BDG you crack me up!!! That is one thing that classes are good for! It get you out of the house and forces you to take some "quiet belly time" to yourself! :) I used to lock myself away in my bedroom and practice for hours by all alone. :) It definitely helps when it is calm and peaceful. :)

Yup we both started at the same time, danced in the same class for 4 years. Unfortunately, when I moved into my current troupe, I had to lose going to dance class with my mom. It was always something special for the both of us and it helped to bring us closer together. I plan to do a duet with her sometime. Maybe I'll be able to capture it on camera. :)

Absolutely. We have done one other duet together. It was at a Halloween show about 2 years ago and we danced to Oingo Boingo's "No One Lives Forever". One of the most enjoyable times I have danced onstage. I know my mom misses me, but she still takes classes and enjoys it very much. :)
